Instructions to configure Microsoft OUTLOOK Email Program.

By definition there are two Outlook programs.

1.    Outlook Express. This comes with Windows (all types).

a.    Think of this as a generic email program.

2.    MS Office Suite Outlook.

b.    This is the professional version and can have an add-on
applied to it called Business Manager.

  1. This is the setup for Veretekk MS Office Suite Outlook (only).

  1. From Outlook select the tab called Tools at the top of the screen.

  1. From the drop down select Email Accounts.

  1. You probably have an account already set up for your IP (Internet Provider).

  1. The screen will default to View the accounts. Click Next.

  1. Click on the Add button (to add a new account).+

  1. Select the Pop3 Account.

The following is a sample of the set up required for the Veretekk account called maddog1. This is a sample name used for this with Veretekk.

Note:

  1. You name is the same name you use as the sign-on for Veretekk.

  1. The email address below is the Veretekk email address for your account.

  1. The Incoming mail server (POP3) will be pop.justhemail.com.

  1. The main thing you must know is what the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is from your Internet Provider.

  1. User name will be {your sign-on name to Veretekk}@justhemail.com.

  1. Your password will be the same password you use to get to your backdoor system with Veretekk.

Next, click on the More Settings... box to the right.  Sample screen shown.

  1. The pop.justhtemail.com should have defaulted in.  If not, enter it.

  1. The Organization will be your name, or business/alias name you might have  used.

  1. The Reply E-Mail (what the user sees on an answer) is {your Veretekk name}@veretekk.com.

  1. If you have already used the pop.justhemail.com on another account a (1) will appear at the end of the .com part in Mail Account.  You cannot have duplicate names, so it will default a number for you.

You should not have to do anything with the next screens.  If those setting need to be made, contact Veretekk or your Internet Provider.

OK, that's it.  You now have a set up made.  Click OK and then back on the first page click Finish.

BUT, you have one small problem.  Veretekk's servers don’t want to be constantly hit with requests to download like you can set for your Internet Provider.  You will start to receive messages that you are limited to 6 downloads a day and they will consistently send that message every time your email calls to your provider to download mail.  In the case of this author, the time is set for every 1 minute.  So each minute that message starts showing up after the 6th hit to Veretekk.

Here is what you need to do.

  1. Click on Tools, then on Options...

  1. You will come into the screen based on Preferences.  Click on the Mail Setup tab at the top.  You will see the following.

  1. Click on the Send/Receive Box…

  1. When you come into the box you will see a default for All Accounts.

  1. Click on the New button to the right as shown below.

  1. A small box will appear asking you what you want to name the account.  In the scenario we have been using, the CSDINC 1 was used, but you can call it what ever you want.  There is no association to the name here and your email account name.  The program is looking at the incoming pop3 account name.

  1. The following box is what you will see.

  1. Now, notice at the top left center there is a check mark in the box that says Include the selected account in this group.  Uncheck the box so it is clear.  Select the next email account below it  If it is not the pop.justhemail account, uncheck the remainder.  Go to each box and do that until you come to the account that says pop.justhemail and make sure it has the check mark on it. (where it says Include the selected account in the group).

  1. Click the OK button and you will return to the first screen.

  1. Now, at the bottom of the box make sure the two boxers are checked for this setup (only).

  1. What this does is stops the constant check for this email with Veretekk each time Outlook makes the check for your regular email account.  The only way you will receive data from Veretekk is you will need to click the F9 key for Send/Receive.  Thus, you will be in control of how many times you hit the Veretekk server.  Normally you will probably only do this two or three times in a day.  If you do it more than that you will start getting the over the limit messages.  See the check marks below.

Now click on the All Accounts and then click on Edit.

Go through the email accounts there looking for pop.justhemail and click on it (to the left) and set off the Include the elected account in this group. (The little whit box will be clear). You will notice that the little red X is on the account if you go back and look at it -- meaning that pop.justhemail is not included in the default group.

Click OK.

You will notice that at the bottom the F9 key boxes are marked on and the Schedule an automatic send/receive every -- 1  -- minutes. I on.  So, on my default accounts the system, if Outlook is active, checks every minute for the default account, but on the CSDCIN 1 account it checks only when F9 is pressed for send and receive.

There, you are all done.  Remember this is only for the MS OFFICE Suite OUTLOOK program.  It is not for Outlook Express.  Follow the instructions for Outlook Express from Veretekk.  However, (am not sure) Outlook Express can have multiple group setups, so you can set this last part up for Outlook Express in the same fashion.

Note:  After further testing the following day that this was written, a second CSDCINC 2 had to be set up and CSDCIN2.veretekk.com was attached in it, and detached in CSDCINC 1.  The problem was the Send/Receive would only bring in the email for csdcinc@veretekk.com, not the mail for csdcinc2@veretekk.com.

Call me if any questions.
